About me
My Photography Journey
I discovered my passion for photography 7 years ago after bacterial meningitis nearly took my life. I awoke from a coma with a new perspective and outlook on life. The following year consisted of numerous surgeries to correct the problem. To say my stress and anxiety levels were through the roof would be an understatement. I had some physical restrictions and an abundance of free time. I started watching youtube tutorials and photography VLOGS and immediately caught the photography bug. The only time I felt at peace is when I was out capturing sunrise & sunset photos. It’s the reason I fell in love with photography and I still get that feeling to this day.
Why Photography?
There’s something about waking up early in the morning before sunrise. It’s pitch black outside. The majority of people are still sound asleep. All you hear are the sounds of the surrounding landscape. The birds chirping, the wind ruffling the leaves, the waves breaking on the beach. You hike to that location and set up your composition. Then you wait. You wait and you watch as the light slowly creeps up the horizon and makes its way across the landscape. Your job as the photographer is to capture that moment as best you can. To encompass all of those feelings into a single image. That’s what I love to do.
